This photo was the photo that I used as a reference for my portrait assignment. The simplicity yet surrealism really stood out to me. It made me think about how I could use something as simple as a table and make it a meaningful part of my photograph. The Kitchen Table Series tells a story of the life of a woman experiencing the biggest moments of her life on a kitchen table. So when I was talking my portrait photos I tried to tell a story with them, though not as complex as hers but a simple story to make people laugh a bit. I just appreciate the meaning behind this series because when I think about it, some of the biggest moments of my life I experienced at my kitchen table, my first college acceptance, my first family photo, and many more. So without realizing it, I connected deeply with this series and I was born 14 years after this was created. So it's a pleasant surprise to realize how much a connected with this series and for this to be the series I chose as my inspiration for my portrait assignment.
