Annie Leibovitz Annie Leibovitz is one of the most famous modern-day photographers, known for her very dramatic photos that make the people in her photos seem outer worldly.      I didn't realize that she was the one who took this legendary photo of two of the best football players in history. Her work is amazing and being able to take a photo like this just shows how much influence she has as an artist. I remember seeing this photo and being in awe at the sheer brilliance behind the meaning of this photo.      Annie Leibovitz's photography is phenomenal, she shows a very dramatic side of the people in her photos. But it's that dramatic side that makes her photos really stand out, it feels like her photos can be in fantasy books or fantasy shows. Its really amazing to look at the amount of detail in her photos. This photo sho...

Carrie Mae Weems                                                                           The Kitchen Table Series, 1990      This photo was the photo that I used as a reference for my portrait assignment. The simplicity yet surrealism really stood out to me. It made me think about how I could use something as simple as a table and make it a meaningful part of my photograph. The Kitchen Table Series tells a story of the life of a woman experiencing the biggest moments of her life on a kitchen table. So when I was talking my portrait photos I tried to tell a story with them, though not as complex as hers but a simple story to make peopl...

Edward Honaker        Edward Honaker is a world-renowned photographer most known for his self-portraits that depict his mental health struggles.       I chose this photo because I feel like a lot of people relate to a photo like this. Though its simple when looking at this photo, it feels like Edward was trying to say that even though he was there physically, he wasn't there mentally and I know that many people that deal with mental health issues feel exactly like that most of the time. So to me this simple photo had much more of an impact than first glance.      This is one of my more favorite photos from his self-portraits because although the balloon is when its reflection on the water is black and to me that has a deeper meaning than first thought. To me this means that no matter how happy someone...
Fred Ritchin's, "After Photography"       While reading this article the section "Photography the Future so a Version of it Does Not Happen" really stuck out to me. I believe it stuck out to me because it said you can use digital photography to show a bad future that can happen if we continue to do the things we normally do. It talked about a photo of an iceberg and using Photoshop to show how the iceberg will completely melt and raise sea levels if we continue with this level of global warming. I believe that a simple photo being altered like that could change a few people's decisions, which is what the world needs.     Also in that same part of the article, it said that the police used digital photos to help find children that have been lost. I think that's amazing, that ability to take a photo of someone and then change the way they look and then using that new photo to find a lost person is amazing. I'm pretty su...
